I've always wanted to see snowflakes. Sitting on the soft grass I was finally granted my wish. Gray snowflakes fell from the sky. I watched as they drifted towards the ground. It was a stunning sight. The only problem was the house was too bright and the smell burned my nose. I wondered if they were inside. They were always nice to me. I decided to run up to the door, but nothing I could do would make them answer. The last I heard, they told me, "Go spend some time outside."

I like being outside. Lots of places to run. But being inside was nice too. Especially when I get to lay in bed. Why would no one answer? Where were they? I'm sure they smelled it. I know they could see it. From far away I could hear something. It was loud, too. I think it might have been some kind of siren. I went to sit under the tree in the yard. Sitting down, I could barely take my eyes from the bright glow. The loud noise became even louder; when I turned to see, some flashing lights made me blink. Something large was coming down the road. It stopped in front of my house, and some people in strange suits ran to my house. One called me over, but I was too busy yelling at the ones getting near. They ignored me, and went inside. It was a little while before I saw them again, but when they returned, in their arms were my friends. I yelled at them to leave my friends alone, but they still didn't listen.

Now they had something like a long snake in their arms, except a lot of water came out. The glowing died down, and I couldn't recognize my house. Tired, and having given up yelling, I answered to the one calling me over. I didn't know why, and I didn't care anymore.

"Who do we have here?"
"Well, the tag says his name is Kepler."
"Kepler, huh? I guess we'll have to find him a new home. No one survived this one."
"It's a shame."
"Yeah, but actually, my little girl always wanted a pet. And this dog seems pretty tame. I think I might just keep him."
"Oh yeah? Well, that's one less thing we have to worry about. Let's get finished here and get the report written."
"You got it."

On foggy days like these, I don't like to do much. I like to imagine the clouds got lazy and didn't feel like lifting themselves out of our way, so why should I get out of bed? But I remembered a certain promise to someone, and decided to keep my bicycle company. There was the usual route past a few convenience stores on the lonesome road I lived on. About half a mile down, and still no passing cars (they didn't want to get out of bed either, I should have listened), the shadow of someone walking was startling. I slowed my pace, and followed the shadow for a while before it stopped, and I kept going until I heard a voice.

"Why are you following me?" I stopped pedaling, and the figure turned to face me. I let the bike continue forward, slowing, and she soon came into focus. She was a lithe figure, straight black hair to her shoulders, bangs covering her forehead like a curtain. In one hand, a small paper bag, the other, a chain with a locket dangling, neither of which she held with much care. She wore no shoes, I wondered how her feet were faring. I noticed that her shirt hung loose, and she wore shorts just above her knees. I told her I was just going along my way, but I knew she didn't believe me. I didn't believe myself.

"Why are you out here, anyway?" I laughed in disbelief. How could she ask me that question? She had no shoes. Why was SHE out here? I shrugged at her question, to which she simply turned back around. "Just stop following me, and go." Before today, I had the idea of meeting someone on my way of bike riding, and there would be friendly banter, and maybe a date, assuming the someone was female and fairly attractive, but this encounter had shattered my hope in any stranger meeting. But I wondered, if I didn't say anything, would she consider me mute, or maybe my ideal had to be possible with something on my part. So I surprised myself. I asked how she'd like it if I joined her. I made her stop a second time.

"I told you I didn't want you following me...why would I want you to join me?" But her voice faltered this time. She had to formulate the words to be piercing. But I figured it was my only chance. I presented the idea of company on a foggy day. Maybe the comfort in knowing someone might hit me before they'd hit her. I wasn't sure if it made much of a difference to her who got hit first, but she simply started walking with no more words, and I took it as an open invitation. I could better see the detail on the locket, oval shaped and floral decorated. I wondered what picture might be inside. And what might be inside the small bag of hers. I watched her arm swing at her side, to find that the small bag was that of a prescription. I wondered what she might need, what with her not wearing shoes. And so I thought, too much.

The rest of the way was rather silent, aside from tire on loose rocks, chain hitting against side, and bag with rustling contents. The only defining factor of actually arriving somewhere was a mailbox at the end of a long and winding driveway. I didn't keep track of direction, and so she pointed me the right way, saying that we never actually turned anywhere. I nodded, while my cheeks turned somewhat bright red. She smirked at my reaction, while I kept my head lowered. I watched her until she disappeared into the fog, then circled around and made my way home.

Looks like I kept more than one promise today.

It feels to have accomplished some kind of work. But it usually takes a lot before I even feel like getting up to do it. Woke up and went back to sleep several times this morning but finally got up at noon. I'd like to have one day where I'd (want to) wake up nice and early, and make some kind of great breakfast. Maybe chocolate chip pancakes, or blueberry pancakes. Cook some eggs, and some bacon. I rushed everyone out of bed, so they all have wild looking hair. Then we'd go to the park, on some nicely windy day. Fly some kites. Play some frisbee. Skate around the civic center, like on the concrete part of the board walk. And then it's lunch time. I've made several sandwiches, like peanut butter and jelly, or maybe something like turkey and miracle whip. We'd eat on the concrete stage, on a typical red checkered blanket. And we'd drink out of those plastic juice bottles with the weird twisty tops. We might drive around for a bit, I'm not sure where we'd go this time. For dinner we all help make some part of the meal, but I think if the day is slightly windy and cool outside, we could make chicken and sausage gumbo. Green onions and boiled eggs. For dessert I made some chocolate pudding in these fancy glasses we have, dark green and dark blue. After dinner we go to the park and play hide and seek while it's dark, because it's more exciting that way (plus a lot more dangerous, but we don't have to go into specifics). And then after a good day like this, everyone has to go home nice and tired because they did something so incredibly fun, but it doesn't happen everyday so it's something nice to enjoy and remember.

Or maybe we could go fishing. I like to go fishing. I don't necessarily catch many fish, but it happens. And we could go crabbing. Watch them crawl up to the turkey necks, wait for them to latch on, and slowly pull them up then catch them in the net, unsuspecting of their doom. Putting worms is fun. They wriggle around and feel slimy and I still freak out because I'm a girl, but...oh well. Then cast the line, hope for a bite, have trouble reeling it in, and then realize you caught something so small, you can only toss the poor guy back in. Or maybe you caught a boot. Either way, I still don't find it being too tasty.

Sometimes I wish unique moments would happen in slow motion, and I wish instead of seeing them through my own eyes it would be orchestrated, and specially lit to make it look as special as it feels. Sometimes I wonder if I were to share them with someone else, would they get the same thing I do.

good morning sunshine, it's time to wake up. what are your first thoughts when you wake up? i remember having a strange dream last night, but when i woke up adam needed to get ready for work, so he turned on the light, and there was the harshness of enlarged pupils absorbing too much light. i shut my eyes tightly but after a few minutes the effect wears off. i watch tv for a bit, wrap a couple of presents. now i'm typing this, and i'm thinking how good some cereal will taste so, let me go make some real quick...

while im chewing im reminded of a lab we did in biology two years ago. i can hear the crunches while im chewing, and the little lab we did in biology was hitting one of those vibration prong things, and holding it by our teeth, and you hear nothing. then you do it again and put a finger over one of your ears and then you can hear something. and it was to show how you can hear the vibration sound it makes because of your bones, and i dont quite remember the full lesson, but i was wondering if anyone else could hear me eating my cereal. but probably not.

its pretty cold here in the living room. but my pink blanket is at school.

so now i'm playing a game where you infect red blood cells. and reading jason mraz's blog. and both are fun.

so I probably just spent at least an hour reading a cool guy's blog. you should check it out.

i have something better to do than type more useless things to read. (:

so once again, I'm procrastinating. Nothing new.

Other than I turned eighteen over the weekend, and my friends threw me the past surprise things ever! I didn't have an actual /party/ but I had several small things, that were simply amazing. I had surprise gift giving during lunch on Friday, surprise "we vandalized your street" that night, surprise dinner + more gifts at o'charlies the next day...in the midst of it all, I could only think about how selfish I was being when I thought three of my friends couldnt be there for my birthday when one of my friends didnt even get to have a birthday :/

But Christmas is going to be amazing. I promise. Break is going to be here soon, and I ready for it to get cold again so I can wear my new jacket. In the course of three days, I went from Hello Kitty deprived, to Hello Kitty Fab. Thanks everyone.

A really good birthday.

An interesting 17 years of life has passed, and now to make something for the 18th.
